The physical design may require modifications to the logical design if no pleasurable solution can be found that meets the requirements of the logical design. Innovations in technology that occur between the two design phases may product more powerful or economical solutions that were not known during the logical design phase. However, the goal of this process should not be to place the hardware issues above the logical design structure; instead, the physical design should seek to work within the parameters established by the logical design whenever possible.
